One of the amazing tutors that I was lucky enough to be taught by Alan Holmes (now director of studies and design) having a chat with Textile Design for Fashion graduate Lucy Jones. Blog post on Lucy and her beautiful work coming up.

I took MILLIONS of pictures at the Manchester School of Art degree show. The building has just had a massive refurb which compliments the students spectacular work magnificently.
I think it's best to split the pics up into a few chunks. Above is a mix of work from courses Textiles Design for Fashion and Embroidery. This is an emotional area for me as I studied Textile Design for Fashion whilst I was at Man Met and these two courses are being merged into one big course called 'Textiles in Practice'.

So my lovely course is no more!
I feel very privileged to have had a helping hand with these final year students as it marks the end of a wonderful era.
Since last October I was brought into the uni to do tutorial sessions and help out with their digitalprint/photoshop skills. I had a fab time being back at MMU and love working in this amazing new building 'Chatham Tower'. Can't wait to start the journey all over again with the next lot of students. Bring on September!

AW13 Behind the scenes

Last Tuesday was the day, our AW13 photoshoot happened. Above you can see Hollie and Jess working hard in the room we hired out for the day. This is where the make up and hair got sorted and we eventually moved into some really amazing locations around Manchester School of Art. Make up artist Becky Hanks created some fantastic looks which will be posted here when the final lookbook images are released. You can see inspiration behind the photoshoot at my last blog post here.

Manchester School of Art - The Refurb

A bit about me - Alongside running my little digital print industry I am a tutor at Manchester School of Art. It's a job I really enjoy and since the university underwent a massive multi million pound refurb the building is a delight to work in. I graduated a few years ago and i'm sure all of my fellow graduates would have loved if the work spaces were like this whilst we were there. Moaning aside, I thought it would be interesting to document my time with the students and (with their permission) let outsiders see into their design processes.

So i'll kick off with Hollie Davies, follow her on Twitter here @HollieDavies20

Manchester School of Art Degree Show 2012

Last week I went to have a mooch around my old uni's degree show. I graduated last summer but went back a few months ago to talk to the final year Textile Design for Fashion students about their final year projects (see the blog post here). Well the degree show was fantastic and they all did amazingly. I filled a memory card with pics so here are a selected few. The show was in Spinningfields this year which I thought worked well. So much more space and a lot more in the surrounding area (like 'hey little cupcake' the most amazing cupckae shop). so anyway ENJOY!

Rachel Edmond - the print . . . OH THE PRINT!

Gavin Donnachie - interesting portfolio layout

Zoe Pritchard - cool bag alert!

Laura Baker - Am sooo impressed with this print, it's beautiful

Hannah Bellamy - am slightly obsessed with this project, print, flowing fabric, yellow, blue . . . what more could you want!

Hannah Voong - loved her portfolio, drawing, print and layout
