Labels, branding . . .ZIPPER!

To go with the zipper garments I created a few tags, to help label each piece before it got marked and also to establish a bit of brand identity. It's not what I'm going to stick with but it was good to play around with the images I'd accumulated over the project. I used photo shop to distort images and incorporate some of the little doodles from my sketch book.

I'm doing much blog surfing this week to get together a few ideas for the summer project. Looking forwards to snooping through everyones latest posts!

Recycling Cloth

For my latest project we were covering a brief set up by a clothes company that recycles old garments into new ones (Upcycling). The designers were from 123 Bethnall Green Road in London. Here are the inspiration images from preen, and a few pages from my sketch book. And lastly some of the samples I created from an old bed sheet, some jersey vest tops and a few doilies and silk waist ties given to me by work.

7 concepts - Fashion Illustration

These are the final 7 illustrations that depict the style of the zips and they are overlaying the zipper samples that are all different colours and tones. So each outfit would be using a different zipper colour concept. I hope i've not totally brainwashed everyone with zips!!!! When i go shopping my eyes are now automaticly drawn to anything with zips or zip detailing! It's taking over my life! it's funny because before this project i wasn't overly bothered about zips but i love them now, it's so easy to get sooooo drawn into a project.

New Project at uni alert!

To get an understanding of the colour palette I intended to work with I covered my bedroom wall with paper and dripped wishy washy inks down white card. I loved the outcome of the dark metalic gold. I'm still not too sure what colour palette to go with because since i've begun to bleach the navy blue zips i'm loving the totally random colours it's turned the zips. This is the beginings of a garment that i've put onto manny the mannaquin for now.
