Aswel as my accessories company i've been working on an exciting new project. I met photographer Robert Kicka years ago at a fashion event and we have worked together ever since. I am proud to say he is realising his dream of creating a magazine for creative people in the North West. This special project is called PLATFORM. Anybody who is passionate about their creative skill is invited to come and showcase their work in issues of Platform. Any skills are welcome: fashion designers, graphic artists, fine artists, singer/song writers, photographers ANYTHING! If you want to get your work out there, Platform may be for you.
I am even more excited to announce that I am taking on fashion editor duties and am currently selecting designers who would like to get involved in this online magazine.
Last week I met up with the very lovely Textile print designer Louise Whitaker.
I spotted her work at The Manchester School of Art degree show and just had to get her involved! She upholstered a whole freakin chaise lounge for her final year project, aswel as making a collection of digitally printed clothing. See her online portfoilio here.
So here are a few snaps of Louise's work and then a little behind the scenes shot from our interview last week. Fantastic photographer Paul Wolfgang Webster joined us to document the day.
Having her photograph taken by Paul, wearing one of her own designs.
